Three Easy Trends to Incorporate into your Spring/Summer Wardrobe

The sun is finally out, flowers are blooming and birds are chirping away. This can only mean one thing: Spring has finally arrived! It’s time to put those boots and coats aside and give your wardrobe a fresh makeover befitting of the warm, sunny weather. If the winter months have left you feeling uninspired and you’re stuck for ideas on how to spruce up your spring style, then not to worry we’ve got the rundown on three – key trends that will have you ready for spring in no time!

1. The Monochrome

Black and white. These two colours have been featured in every fashion week this season; Designers have given this classic combination a 60s twist by combining it with fun patterns in the form of stripes and checks. For a formal look, wear a solid colour from head to toe such as black and pair it with white accessories (which are also big this season!) If you’re looking for something more casual then you should opt for a simple striped top. Pair this with a black skirt or alternatively, a pair of black jeans or trousers!

1. MARC JACOBS, Striped silk-jersey maxi dress, £1,500

2. THAKOON ADDITION, Striped and leopard-patterned cotton and wool-blend sweater, £265

3. CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN, Galia striped canvas espadrilles, £245

4. MICHAEL MICHAELKORS, Jet Set Travel medium striped textured-leather shopper, £260

5. MOSCHINO CHEAP AND CHIC, Striped stretch-knit biker jacket, £315

2. The Bomber Jacket

Great news for fans of the sports luxe trend which was huge last spring/summer: it’s back! Give a nod to this laid-back look by throwing on a bomber jacket. Wear it with neutral separates. Perfect for those slightly chilly spring days!

1. RAG & BONE, Cambridge floral-print cotton-blend and leather bomber jacket, £670

2. VANESSA BRUNO, Fringed woven cotton jacket, £440

3. ISABEL MARANT, Josh embellished crepe-jacquard jacket, £1,290

4. SEE BY CHLOÉ, Cobra-print washed-silk Habotai jacket, £465

3. The Blue

It may be spring but the runway is still feeling blue! This season we’ve seen many shades of this colour on the runway from Gucci to Stella McCartney; The shade that stood out the most was cobalt blue. The best way to incorporate this colour into your outfits is through statement accessories. Pair them with a simple white top or trousers.

1. GUCCI, Wide-leg silk-crepe pants, £560

2. GUCCI, Gold-plated, crystal and bead clip earrings, £595

3. GUCCI, Bright Bit patent-leather shoulder bag, £615
