Istanbul’s first restaurant to add a sushi bar, Sunset Grill & Bar isn’t just any upscale restaurant in the city. Diners in Istanbul were introduced to “New Japanese Cuisine” when Hiroki Takemura, the Master Chef of the internationally acclaimed Nobu Restaurant in London joined Sunset Grill&Bar as a guest chef for two years (2006-2007) offering his interpretations of Japanese cuisine. Due to his highly successful stint, Chef Takemura was again invited to return as a guest chef for a short period in 2009. He then joined sunset grill&bar on a permanent basis in 2010. His special menu includes a choice of starters, main courses and desserts and change according to season. Executive chef Hüseyin Arslan and chef Hiroki Takemura form a force that creates some of the best Turkish, Mediterranean and Japanese dishes in town
The restaurant grows its own herbs in the garden. If you have cause for celebration, Sunset is the place for it, with a great menu and astounding views of the Bosphorus. Sunset offers a spectacular view of the Bosphorus strait, Bosphorus Bridge and Asian shoreline.
Highly recommended, and I think I can safely say it’s worth a trip during dinner and another for lunch, because the ambiance will be completely different when you can actually see the view of the landscape beneath. Sunset Grill&Bar offers spacious indoor and outdoor dining areas have comfortable and casual seating, yet with a classic décor.
